eBay auction to drool over (numismatists only)

While trolling through eBay I found this interesting auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/120-Coin-PCGS-CO...1%7C240%3A1308

A complete set of PCGS graded Morgan silver dollar, including varieties! Decently priced at 164,000FRN.

What a collection. Hey, Mods, where is the drool smiley

Kick it up to $155, it could happen!:9536:

What if you never find anyone to buy these from you if collecting goes out of favor? seems to me it is the biggest ponzi of all.

buy bullion, not bullsh!t.

Numismatic coins hold their value better during the swings of the spot price so there is something to be said about that and some people like that stability. I keep a mix, but it's definitely heavily weighted towards bullion versus numismatics. Numismatics wont do you much good if TSHTF to the extent that alot of people think it will. For that reason, I have been thinking long and hard about selling some of my key date coins to purchase either more bullion or more preps (or both).

I suggest you go to pcgs.com and see for yourself how well numismatic coins hold up over time.

:36_1_25: ...WOW nice collection but the fun is finding and building the set...Numismatic rare coins hold their value and more if bought "right" and the buyer knows the field
